Hi, I’m a content marketing writer.
I’m Carson, a personal finance writer at The Penny Hoarder, where, in the past two and a half years, I’ve written more than 500 articles that have received millions of page views. These days I work on the branded content side of the business, meaning I pitch and write articles that’ll both engage our audience of 8 million as well as generate revenue.
I can also read Google’s mind. Well, not really. But I can preform some mean keyword research in an effort to land on the mystical Page One. And I refuse to sacrifice quality reporting and writing for keyword-stuffing. I’m a savvy wordsmith, so I know how to flawlessly work in even the most awkward search terms. (Seriously, people search the darndest things.)
At the end of the day, though, I’m a journalist. Before joining the world of digital media, I earned my master’s in journalism from the top-ranked University of Missouri. I’ve worked at a handful of local and regional newspapers and magazines, which taught me how to research, report and fact-check the crap out of a topic.
Today, I’m based in St. Petersburg, Florida, though I travel as much as possible, mostly to escape Florida’s soupy humidity.
